Twenty metres further down towards the beach is another smaller pavilion with seating of a more ‘daytime nature’ giving guests space to escape from their companions. When the heat gets too much, a fully enclosed chill out room is the perfect place to watch DVDs or satellite television channels on the big 42” flatscreen.
Dining Pavilion
The open-sided dining pavilion is situated on the corner of the main courtyard with fabulous views of the beach and sunsets. The building is open sided, and its thatched roof is supported by columns. It is cooled by fans and sea breezes, and furnished with a beautiful teakwood dining table and 14 chairs. Small alcoves in the columns are filled with candles to create a cosy ambience.
The large modern kitchen is conveniently positioned next door to the dining room and is fully equipped with imported appliances, utensils, glassware and tableware.
Bedrooms
There are six bedrooms at Villa Sepoi Sepoi, positioned in a horseshoe shape around a courtyard garden. The Sunset master suite takes up the whole of the upper floor of the only two-storey pavilion on the estate and is located on the southern side of the courtyard offering wonderful views of the sea. The suite incorporates a massive bedroom, furnished with a superking size four poster bed and adjoined by a broad balcony. It also boasts a spacious dressing room, an office, a private massage room/yoga studio, and a large ensuite bathroom fitted with twin washbasins, a rainshower, and a romantic standalone bathtub canopied in gold organza.

The Chinese Room has a king bed and the Oyster Room is furnished with twin trundle beds, which sleep up to four kids as each bed incorporates a spare bed that rolls under the main frame this room also has an additional day bed behind a partition.
The Frangipani Room in yellow and the Hibiscus Room in orange both face the garden and form the eastern side of the courtyard, backing onto the orchard. The Frangipani Room has a king bed and the Hibiscus Room has the same sleeping configuration as the Oyster Room with twin trundle beds, two of which can be rolled away out of sight during the day. All the hot-water is solar-powered in order to reduce the impact on the environment.
Pool & Garden
The huge garden at Sepoi Sepoi extends all the way to the white sand beach, and can also be used as a sports pitch. From the living pavilion and running out in the direction of the beach, there is a 20-metre infinity edge swimming pool flanked by mature coconut palms and a stone pool deck furnished with sunbeds and umbrellas. A smaller relaxation gazebo, complete with upholstered sofas and ottomans, sits at the head of the pool and stares down the expansive lawn to the sea. To the left of the pool is a rustic cabana-style bar. Meanwhile, the orchard at the rear of the villa makes for a wonderful children’s secret garden.
Location
Villa Sepoi Sepoi rests beside the stunningly beautiful Sira Beach – the longest white-sand beach on the island of Lombok – in the tiny village of Sira (also spelt Sire). It is less than ten minutes’ drive from the harbour of Teluk Nara, where the fast boats from Bali and the Gili Islands stop to drop off passengers, and about 45 minutes’ drive from Lombok’s international airport. Situated next door to the villa is the Lombok Golf Kosaido Country Club, an 18-hole championship course.
It is also within walking distance of Hotel Tugu Lombok, a quirky and atmospheric living museum of extraordinary Indonesian artwork and antiques, with a restaurant, bar and spa open to outside guests. The neighbouring village of Tanjung is an attractive Sasak market village with stalls overflowing with local produce. This is also the location of The Oberoi Lombok Hotel, complete with a jetty for guests who arrive by boat, and a gourmet beachside restaurant.
Here, in this sparsely populated region of Lombok, the landscape is shaped by tobacco, coffee and cocoa plantations, together with fields of soya, peanuts, maize, cassava and cashews.
Sira Beach is safe for swimming, and great for snorkelling and kayaking. The view from the villa and beach of the Gili Islands, the mountains and the coastline, is magnificent.
The Gilis are a trio of tiny emerald islands, floating like a necklace of pearls in a turquoise sea. Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air are all blessed with white, hourglass-sand beaches, and amazing coral reefs, and there is plenty of nightlife on Gili Trawangan.
The islands can be reached within 15 minutes from the villa by speedboat or 30 minutes from Bangsal by public ferry. Sengiggi, 45 minutes to the south of Sira, presents the only nightlife on mainland Lombok, as well as an art market selling many Lombok and Indonesian antiques and curios.
